Arrows Arrows Arrows! they are every where. On pillows on shirts on cute little coffee mugs, there is no getting away from them. Frankly I adore the little things, I love the feathers at the end the way I can make them any color and size. and that I have all the supplies on hand to make a ton of these little puppies.
first I wanted a gold vase to put them in (confession I started this project for Thanksgiving and am just now finishing it for Valentines Day) I love my spray paint. Start by taping off the parts of the glass you want to keep clear and just a little advice if you want it really crisp you will have to cover the top of the vase. I did not and did get gold dust inside on the clear part along with a gold finger print. LOL
remove the tape and voila and cool modern gold vase for the price of the can of spray paint. This is darling for parties and weddings too. Ive don’t this in yellow gray and turquoise and it looks darling!
Ok now for the fun part. Some of the feathers I used as is because they were cream and while and I loved how they looked. However I did have some brown feathers in my stash and was not in love with the darker color so I taped off some lines with washi tape. (because its easy to peel off) and sprayed them gold. I wanted to spray them raspberry but didn’t have that color. I think a pop of red or pink would have been sooooooo cute!
The last step is to hot glue three feathers to the top of the dowel (also sprayed gold). You could cut the feathers to look more realistic or just leave them pointy like I did. I then added about 6 inches of twine with a hot glue gun and left a tail on some of them. I also used some sparkly yarn for a few of the feathers.
And for the tips I used arrows ribbon beads and glittered hearts. I hot glued everything except the bead. That was a bit more tricky I propped up the bead in a crumpled up paper towel and leaned balanced the dowel on top (it was leaning on a box) and used quick grip my new favorite glue!
Then I just went around my house and added the arrows to everything in sight. All my last years deco got a fresh little arrow to cheer it up.
And some of my extra arrows went into my glass jars and under cloches. A really simple and fun way to change up the seasons in your house.
again a candy box turned into a shadow box filled with Valentine goodness. Lets see there are gold Christmas beads, a bingo card tickets and a coffee filter flower shove in some ribbon and add an arrow on the front and your done.
